Statement concerning the 2021 Laymen’s retreat.

Greetings,

Unfortunately Olivet College has canceled all of its summer programs for 2021 due to the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. The powers that be at Olivet have decided that there are just too many unknowns to make it feasible to host any summer conferences in 2021.  This means that the status for the 2021 Laymen’s retreat is up in the air at this time.

The committee is sending out this message both to let you know where we are at and to ask for any ideas you may have for alternative sites for a face to face retreat. We have already reached out to 15 other colleges with discouraging results.  Many of the colleges we contacted have already canceled their 2021 summer programs. Those that have not canceled are unable to give us any kind of reservation at this point in time.  The committee is also exploring other options such as holding a Saturday only gathering at a hotel or other conference facility.
